OVERVIEW
Family breakdown is a challenging time, particularly when children are involved. Some separations involve a higher level of conflict than others, some bring up safety concerns, and some may impact negatively on the mental health and wellbeing of those involved. Family separation counselling can provide a tailored approach to supporting the individual needs of those involved.
WHAT THIS SERVICE CAN PROVIDE
- Information, advice, and referrals to relevant services
- Counselling for adults
- This may be parents, grandparents, and others holding kinship relationships
- Counselling for children
- Education sessions and workshops focused on managing and recovering from high conflict separation
- Mediation sessions
WHO THIS IS TYPICALLY FOR
- Separated or Separating families who are experiencing high conflict
- This includes families by marriage, defacto, and other personal relationships
- Families experiencing financial crisis or poverty

Centacare is not a mental health crisis service. Please follow this LINK to visit the WA Department of Health website which contains support services for mental health emergencies. Many of these services are available outside of normal working hours.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
All enquiries, registrations, referrals, and triage are free of charge.
Counselling sessions are $15 per session.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, please raise this at your Intake and Assessment Appointment. Finances should not be a barrier to using our services.
