Family Dispute Resolution

Family and Property Dispute Resolution – Geraldton

The Family Relationship Centre provides “Family Dispute Resolution” to enable children to have a positive ongoing relationship with both parents.  Through this process we assist parents to reduce their conflict and to reach agreement in how to co-parent their children.

We also offer property mediation for separated couples to assist them to resolve their property disputes.

WHAT THIS SERVICE PROVIDES

Family Relationship Centre is a source of information and confidential assistance for families at all stages in their lives. The Family Relationship Centre has a focus on providing family dispute resolution (mediation) to enable separating families to achieve workable parenting arrangements outside the Court system.

Whether you are going through separation, starting a relationship, want to make your relationship stronger, or having relationship difficulties, the Family Relationship Centre can help. We believe all people should be safe in their relationships so where Family Violence has occurred, we will support you to link in to appropriate services.

Where families separate, the Family Relationship Centre can provide information, resources, group workshops, referrals and dispute resolution to help people reach agreement on parenting and property arrangements without going to court.

The Family Relationship Centre can also support families to strengthen relationships or deal with relationship difficulties through provision of information and referrals to appropriate services in your area.

WHO THIS IS TYPICALLY FOR

All families, whether you are starting a relationship, wanting to make your relationship stronger, having difficulties or are separated.

The Family Relationship Centre will help you focus on your children’s needs and will help you access services that can strengthen family relationships. Even separated families can be strong families.

WHAT THIS SERVICE ENTAILS

After registering with this service, you will be booked into one of our Family Dispute Resolution Information Workshops or be provided with an online link to complete our Property Dispute Information Session online. Once the workshop or online information session is completed, you will receive a triage phone call from one of our Client Liaison Officer to check on your safety and well-being while on our wait-list. When you file has come off our wait-list and has been allocated to a practitioner, you will be provided with an appointment time for a one-on-one session with a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner / Family Advisor.

During your one-on-one appointment, you will have the opportunity to explain your family matter so that together we can consider options for pathways which might best suit your family. Appropriate pathways may or may not include family dispute resolution. Legal advice through separation is often important and we can help link you in to this.
