National Volunteer Week

May

National Volunteer Week is a week to celebrate both individual volunteers, volunteer managers who help drive and direct the power of volunteering to serve volunteering organisations and our community. As the leading Agency, Centacare Volunteer Service co-ordinates events to celebrate this important week. We have held Expos, morning teas, thank you events and community connect events in the past.

Children’s Week

October

In recognition of Centacare’s commitment to the care of children and assisting their parents, a welcome gift is given to each baby born in the Regional and St John of God Hospitals during Children’s Week.

Thank a Volunteer Day

December

Together with the City of Greater Geraldton, our Volunteer Service co-ordinates a special “Thank you” sundowner event to formally recognise and thank all the volunteers in our community. We also manage the Volunteer of the Year Awards during this time and announce the recipients and winners at the Awards Ceremony. This event is held on December 5 every year.

Centacare Community Christmas Day Lunch

If you know of someone who is alone on Christmas Day, Centacare Family Services provides a free lunch starting at 12noon with all the trimmings at the Catholic Centre.
