Here is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities available in your community:
WA Country Health Service – Kiosk/Trolley Assistant: The popular and busy Kiosk at the Geraldton Hospital are looking for more enthusiastic Volunteers to join them! Assist with kiosk and trolley service to patients. Must be cheerful and able to handle small cash transactions. Join this great team of Auxiliary Volunteers who help raise money through the kiosk sales towards the purchase of vital equipment and amenities for the care and comfort of patients. Join us today!
WA Country Health Service – Meals on Wheels Volunteer: This role sees Volunteers deliver hot and cold meals directly to the homes of isolated and aged community members. This role requires the use of your own vehicle, and it may also be something you’d like to do with a friend or family member. Deliveries are done by Volunteers each weekday from 11am for approx. 1- 1 ½ hrs. Collection of eskies and run sheets from the Geraldton Health Campus and then taken to your client’s home. A few minutes of your time to each client will be greatly appreciated and it may be the only contact that person has all day! You can go on the roster each week, fortnight or month – whatever time you can offer is very welcome!
Centacare Family Services – Outreach Volunteer: Housing First Support Services (HFSS) support people who are sleeping rough in Geraldton. We are seeking dynamic Volunteers to work alongside HFSS to provide outreach around the Geraldton CBD area. We are seeking a broad range of Volunteers to help make our service a success and reach our most vulnerable community members. If you have an hour or two to spare throughout the week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7am – 10am) and would like to be involved in our new service please apply to express your interest and discuss further. Full induction, support and supervision throughout your volunteering period will be provided. Volunteer must be 18+.
Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) – Cruise Ship Meet and Greet Volunteer: MWPA seeking interested community members to join their highly regarded Meet & Greet Volunteer team to assist in providing a warm welcome to visiting cruise ships come 2022! Meet & Greet Volunteers play an important role in the success of cruise ship visits to Geraldton and provide an enthusiastic first (and last) point of contact to our passengers. They are also responsible for providing tourist information and directions to passengers. If you love to share your knowledge of our beautiful city, then contact us today!
