The Community Volunteer Service held an event to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Monday 17 May 2021 where the “Volunteers of Geraldton” film project was launched.
Through several short films, we hear the stories of local people whose lives have been positively impacted because of their volunteering experiences.
Jan from Variety Midwest, Tom from Midwest Multicultural Association, Seb from Midwest Charity Begins at Home Youth Team, Jodi and Emma from Apex Geraldton and Joshua from Centacare come from different backgrounds and cultures but each calls Geraldton home.
In their own words, they share their experience of the joy of giving back to others, of improving their lives, of gaining employment, of leading, inspiring and meeting new people through their volunteering endeavours.
This project helps bring awareness to some of the key benefits that volunteering offers, and that is that
We are excited and proud to share these stories from our local legends and wanted to acknowledge the generous support provided by Dane and Celeste from Health Communication Resources who worked hard to develop and produce these films for us.
