Current Volunteer Opportunities List

Here is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities available in your community:

St Vincent de PaulWelfare Support Officer: Vinnies offers opportunities for members of the community to give their time, talents and other skills to assist the less fortunate members of our community by volunteering to work in Vinnies Stores. The role of a Volunteer Welfare Support Officer is to provide welfare assistance to members of the public who are experiencing financial hardship. The types of assistance provided could include: General living costs, assist in client referrals, emergency food parcels, clothing and bill paying. Confidentiality is a high priority in which Volunteers have a duty to maintain at all times. This role also requires Volunteers to be supportive, caring and remain non-judgemental at all times to all those they have contact with.

City of Greater GeraldtonLate Night Basketball Volunteers: Wanted! Positive and engaging adult role models to enjoy this new and exciting local program! This new U-Turn Project program commences Friday 27 July for 8 weeks from 6.30pm-10.30pm, concluding Friday 14 September. Various roles assisting and supporting young people are available to Geraldton residents who have a genuine interest in the well-being of our local young people aged 13-18 yrs. This is a safe, lock-in event which offers dinner, workshops and games of basketball to our local youth with the intention of keeping them engaged and away from any antisocial behaviour. Volunteers do not have to commit to the whole 8 weeks – just let them know your availability and they will do all they can to include you. Volunteers must be 18+ and must either hold a current Working with Children Card or be willing to obtain one. The Committee are able to assist any potential volunteer with applying for a WWCC.

Activ Geraldton- City to Surf Race Event Volunteers: The City to Surf for Activ turns 44 this year! This much loved and exciting event is back in Geraldton on the weekend of 4th & 5th August. A minimum of a 12 month commitment is requested of all volunteers
